Introducing our first mid-length to the ACSOD lineup. Birthed as an extension of our popular Fox model, the Fox Tail took all the favourite attributes of the original Fox and stretched them out for a more drawn-out approach. Keeping the Gold Coast’s point breaks in mind, that it tends to shoulder off when we have big south swells. This is where the Fox Tail shines most. The extra length maximises your paddle power to battle the sweep and catches waves easily. Once up and riding, you'll find yourself trimming with a ton of speed due to the straight outline and fairly flat rocker. A vee bottom counteracts that straight outline and rocker to maintain a balanced rail to rail roll. Making for a fast, fluid and smooth approach. Those full-faced runners never looked so good.
The wide point sits forward on the Fox Tail, creating a fuller nose outline that continuously blends into a narrower tail. Giving you a forgiving front end with an extended rail line from the centre through to the tail that maintains hold and drive.
Wanting to get the board moving out the gate, we kept the entry rocker low to pick up speed. This gradually blends into a medium exit. The medium exit rocker adds a controlled amount of manoeuvrability when surfing off the tail.
To counteract a fairly straight outline and lowish rocker, the Fox Tail was designed with a vee bottom. Running from nose to tail, starting mildly in the nose, then gradually increasing into a pronounced vee-double behind fins. The vee adds rail to rain sensitivity, while the added double concave in the tail adds to speed. Allowing the board to roll over on a rail and maintain speed through manoeuvres.
All in all, the Fox Tail is the perfect addition to your quiver if you're looking for an increased wave count on a board that will glide fast and do the work for you. 2ft Peelers, you're going fast and trimming. 4-5ft+ you're harnessing the waves speed and drawing smooth longer lines.
